The project is divided into seven work-packages (WPs):


WP 1: Project organization
Head of work package Professor Eva Bakøy (HiL). Co-organizer: Professor Roel Puijk (HiL).
This work-package includes the administration of the project, the arrangement of seminars
and conferences, the coordination of dissemination of results, and publishing.


WP 2: The historical study 
Main researcher and head of the work-package: Professor Gunnar Iversen, (NTNU)
Co-researchers: Professor Tore Helseth (HiL) and Professor Jan Anders Diesen (HiL).
The task of this team is to answer sub-question 1: What caused the growth and
demise of prominent film or television companies in Norway during selected
historical periods?


WP 3: The present-day Norwegian study
Main researcher and head of package: Professor Eva Bakøy (HiL). Co-researcher: Associate
Professor Jo Sondre Moseng (HiL). This work-package studies the production cultures of
six Norwegian film and television companies situated in Oslo or close to the capital. It also
includes a postdoc and a PhD project:
Postdoc Vilde Schanke Sundet's project focuses on the digital challenge and aims at
answering sub-question 2: How important are transmedia and convergence, and what
is the impact of digitalization and new media on the production cultures?
PhD cadidate Stine Eira's project investigates sub-question 3: What are the competitive advantages
and disadvantages of being a company situated in theregions? Companies in the Mjøs region
(e.g., Fabelaktiv, Film 3 A/S). She is supervised by Eva Bakøy (HiL). 


WP 4: The Danish Study 
Main researcher and head of the work-package: Associate Professor Heidi Philipsen,
(University of Southern Denmark). Co-researcher: Associate Professor Søren Birkvad (HiL).
This work-package examines structural conditions in the film and television sector in
Denmark and production cultures in two successful Danish film and television companies.

 

WP 5: The Dutch Study
Main researcher and head of the package: Professor Eggo Müller (Utrecht
University). Co-researcher: Professor Roel Puijk (HiL), Assistent Professor Willemien Sanders
(Utrecht University). This work-package investigates structural conditions in the film and television
sector in the Netherlands and production cultures in two successful Dutch film and television
companies.


WP 6: The British Study
Main researcher and head of the work-package: Dr. Andrew Spicer, University of the West of
England. Co-researcher: Associate Professor Audun Engelstad (HiL) and Researcher Stephen Presence
(University of the West of England). This work-package investigates structural conditions in the film and
television sector in the UK and production cultures in two successful British film and television companies.

 

WP 7: The Comparative Study
Head of package: Eva Bakøy. Co-researchers: Roel Puijk, Audun Engelstad, Jo SondreMoseng.
This work-package involves comparing and contrasting the findings from the other five
workpackages and the publishing of the final book manuscript.
